About Mayfield Cemetery

New landowners petitioned the Williamson County Chancery Court to have the Mayfield Cemetery, 0.15 acres of a 3 acre parcel, terminated and the bodies moved to the back corner of the lot to build a house. Based on the suit, a single memorial would be placed with plants or fencing and the owner would care for the cemetery while the property was in their possession. The tombstones would not be moved and this is the third owner in less than 10 years. The suit has since been dropped for the termination of the cemetery but the land will probably go up for resale and in its current shape, the cemetery is vulnerable to this same threat happening again.
